The Earthquake... of Change

Change can hit like an earthquake—sudden, jarring, and disorienting. I know because I’ve lived through one. Change of Direction shook the foundation of my life, leaving cracks I didn’t think could be repaired.

For months, the ground beneath me felt unstable. During the earthquake of change I believed I was broken, maybe too old to rebuild, and destined to live in the rubble of what once was.

But here’s the truth I discovered: being “stuck” isn’t permanent. It’s not a life sentence—it’s a pause. And in that pause lies opportunity.

The pause gave me time to breathe, to ask myself new questions, and to see that healing is a process, not an event. It allowed me to listen to my own voice, perhaps for the first time in years.

Slowly, step by step, courage returned. Not in big leaps, but in small choices: taking a walk, making new connections, daring to imagine a different future.

Each step reminded me that life after loss or loss of direction, isn’t an ending; it’s a new beginning. Sometimes, the most powerful chapters of our lives are written after the earthquake has passed.

💬 Where in your own life has an “earthquake” created cracks? Can you see it as the foundation for something new?
