10 tips for Relaxation

Relaxation should be an important part of your life. As our days are busy and stressful, relaxation is a way to unload the pressure of life.

1. >> PRACTISE RELAXATION

Relaxation helps your body and mind to relax. Practice or join a meditation group or a yoga class.

2. >> GET A MASSAGE

A massage is another form of relaxation. Not everyone likes a massage but a massage relaxes your muscles and your body. You will feel refreshed after a nice massage.

3. >> WALKING

Walking is free and it helps to relax your mind. Start developing a walking habit. Just 45 minutes of walking clear up your mind and quiet your emotions.

4. >> CHANGE YOUR MOOD

Go to the theatre, go to see a movie, go dancing, or engage in any other activity that gets your mind thinking about other things.

5. >> READ A BOOK

A book will take you to other places. Reading is a relaxing way to take your mind off your everyday issues.

6. >> SPEND SOME TIME IN NATURE

Take a break in nature by going for a walk, going for a bike ride, or even by going camping. Being in nature relaxes our senses and our mind. Enjoy the smells and the colours of nature.

7. >> HAVE REGULAR BREAKS

Plan and go on regular holidays. It can be a long or short break. Even a small break away from your everyday surroundings can make a big difference.

8. >> FOCUS ON NUTRITION

Eat healthy food and exercise regularly.

9. >> AVOID SUBSTITUTES

Don't use alcohol or other drugs to help you to cope.

10. >> ADOPT A NEW HOBBY OR ACTIVITY

Incorporate an uplifting and enjoyable activity into your daily life. Make time for creative activities like painting, drawing, gardening, tennis or cooking.
